Our 25 strong team of volunteer gardeners have been honoured in the annual Northumbria in Bloom awards. The team were handed the overall category winners title in the ‘Care/Residential/Convalescent Homes, Hospice and Day Centres’ category as well as Gold for the gardens at St Cuthbert’s.

The competition, now in its 60th year, is all about encouraging local communities to improve their area through community gardening and sound environmental practises.  It is part of the UK wide Britain in Bloom campaign run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).

The team work tirelessly in all weathers to make sure the gardens are a welcoming and peaceful place for all who visit us, and for staff and volunteers too.
