We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who went along to the Houghton Brass concert held in aid of the Hospice on Saturday 21st May 2022 at the Salvation Army Chester-le-Street.
Guests were entertained by singers from Chester-le-Street Amateur Operatic Society, as well as music from Houghton Brass, lead by musical director Michael Franey.
Singers Fiona Havercroft, Kirstie Swirles, Julie Duncan, Charles McCaughey and Peter Wilson treated guests to amazing renditions of classics including ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, ‘Come Fly with Me’ and ‘Danny Boy’ with Houghton Brass Band delighting the audience with performances of ‘Shine As The Light’, ‘Guardian of My Soul’ and ‘In the Mood’ among many others.
Our thanks to Kevan Jones MP and Councillor Tracie Smith for attending, who helped present a cheque to our Hospice representative Ann on the evening.
We’re delighted to let you know the event has raised over £2000 for the Hospice, with more monies still to be counted – a fantastic achievement
Well done to organisers Alan and David and to everyone who played their part in making the evening such as success!
