Last month we were devastated to announce that St Cuthbert’s Hospice is facing the prospect of significant redundancies, meaning the potential reduction of some of our day services, to make sure our In-Patient beds can remain open.
We wanted to say a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us in the past few weeks.
We are still navigating this incredibly difficult time and will update you with any progress as and when we can. Many of you have donated, set up a regular donation, joined our lottery and visited our charity shops. We are so very grateful for any support. Every act of generosity will help to secure the future of St Cuthbert’s Hospice and make sure we can continue to care for all who need us.
Whilst this action has been unbelievably difficult to propose, the long-term future of St Cuthbert’s Hospice is at its heart. This is a deeply unsettling prospect for our dedicated staff and volunteers, and most importantly the countless patients and families who rely on our care.
At present all of our services continue to operate as usual. We remain fully committed to providing end of life care to local people, and their loved ones, where and when they need it.
