Tuesday 4th June 2024

All day today, for twenty four whole hours, our Living Well Centre costs have been donated in loving memory of Moira Dyer with a ‘Pay for a Day’ donation. 💚

Below we share the loving words of Moira’s family:

“In early 2019 our beloved Aunty Moira was diagnosed with lung cancer, unfortunately we were only blessed with a short few months with our Aunty M until she passed away peacefully surrounded by her closest family in August of that year.

Aunty M spent the majority of those last months being cared for in St Cuthbert’s Hospice, by the amazing staff. They showed kindness, care and compassion to not only our Aunty M, but it extended to the whole family and it allowed us to spend precious time together and take some comforting memories from one of the most difficult times in our lives. The whole team from the café staff, to the nurses, doctors, domestics and nursing assistants – our journey would have been a great deal more difficult if you hadn’t helped us along the way – thank you.

Our Aunty Moira was a beautiful and inspirational woman, she could light up a room with her amazing sense of humour and beautiful smile. She was always able to see the best in everyone, she gave the best advice and you always had the best laughs with her. You loved and supported all of us unconditionally and we won’t ever forget that.

So, as well as remembering Aunty M this year on her birthday with a jam and clotted cream scone (our St Cuthbert’s favourite), we decided to dedicate the funds Charlotte raised from running the Great North Run 2023 to the Hospice in hope that other families will receive the same care, compassion & comfort we all did.

In Loving Memory of Moira Dyer

Lots of love and hugs, Your Husband Bryan, Sister Anne, Brother-in-Law Peter, Aunty Fran and all of our favourite Nieces & Nephews xxxx”

We are extremely grateful for this special donation in Moira’s memory.
