All day today, for twenty four whole hours our In Patient Unit costs have been donated in loving memory of Rachel Marie Tucker.
Rachel’s sister Gemma is set to bungee jump 300 feet on the 6th July, and she has raised an amazing £1690. Below we share the loving words of Rachel’s family…
“Today marks Rachel’s 10 year anniversary, it seems unimaginable to believe 10 years have passed and it feels like only yesterday that our lives changed forever.
Rachel was diagnosed with incurable stomach cancer at the young age of 33, she lived everyday to the full, through her hard 2 year battle, having various different treatments and travelling to the Freemans hospital and The Bobby Robson Unit. Rachel finally lost her battle, but was brave and strong throughout. Rachel had an exceptional attitude towards her diagnosis and was grateful for the life she got to live.
Rachel was a strong independent young women who lived her own life full of friends and family. She is missed today the same as the day she left us, she is never far from our thoughts and we include her in everything we do.
Rachel only spent a short time in St Cuthbert’s but she was content and happy to make it her final resting place. Rachel was able to die in peace and dignity in beautiful surroundings due to the support and kindness from St Cuthbert’s and they continue to support us through our grief.
Always remembered and forever in our hearts love Gemma, Mam, her late Dad, family and friends.
We hope our donations helps to keep St Cuthbert’s going so they can be there for other families like they have been for ours.”
We are extremely grateful for this special donation in Rachel’s memory.
