Insight Cover Letter
Dear Supporter,
You may remember last year, through the cold winter months, we asked for your support with our Power Up! Appeal. Our hope was to raise £100,000 to help with our increased running costs, due to the rise in energy prices. We are delighted to let you know that, with your help, we have reached our fundraising target of £100,000! To have reached our goal is a true testament to the love and support which you, our community, show us time and time again. Thank you! Read more about how you’ve helped us reach our total at www.stcuthbertshospice.com/power-up-appeal
As the nights get lighter and the first signs of Spring start to appear throughout our Hospice gardens, you can’t help feel hopeful that brighter days are ahead of us. There is nothing better than being able to have some fresh air, taking a pause in your day and gathering your thoughts in our Hospice gardens. Our gardens really are a hidden sanctuary, filled with colourful flowers, greenery and wildlife. If you’ve visited before you might have taken a look around our Victorian Greenhouse and met some of our amazing Gardening Volunteers! In this edition of Insight Magazine, we’re proud to share some gardening tops tips from our very own experts. We’re also inviting you to experience our gardens for yourself at our National Garden Scheme Open Gardens Day on Sunday 28th July 2024.
Behind every donation is a person, and behind every person, a story…
In this edition of Insight, we are proud to share the stories of Barbara and Barry, two people who have chosen to support St Cuthbert’s Hospice by leaving a gift in their Will.
For many years, Barbara volunteered at Hospice fundraising events and was a friendly face who welcomed you into the Hospice as a reception volunteer. Barry attended our Living Well Centre as a guest and is remembered fondly by the staff who cared for him.
Every gift left to us in a Will is very special and personal. Behind these kind and generous gifts are supporters, all who have their own story and many who have a special connection to St Cuthbert’s Hospice. You can read more about Barbara and Barry’s stories on Page 3.
This year, we are pleased to be working with a selection of local solicitors who have kindly agreed to provide a free basic Will writing offer for our supporters.
Here at St Cuthbert‘s Hospice, we are always guided by the voice of our patients and their families, and we wanted to share with you a few of the kind words we‘ve received:
“St Cuthbert’s is a lovely, calm and peaceful place” “The care given at the Hospice is first class”
Thank you all so much for helping us to make every day count and we hope you enjoy reading our Spring Summer 2024 edition of Insight Magazine!
