All day today, for twenty-four whole hours, our full clinical running costs have been donated in loving memory of Sandra Atkinson with a ‘Pay for a Day’ donation. Below are some words her friends have kindly shared with us:
“On the 11th September 2021 our hearts were broken when we lost our cherished friend Sandra after a short, but very brave, battle with cancer.
Sandra spent a short but peaceful time at St Cuthbert’s Hospice and for that, her family and friends are eternally grateful.
Sandra was the life and soul of every party! Quite literally as her FOMO (Fear of missing out) was so bad she would never say ‘No’ to any of us! The many friends she had were testament to how big her heart was, room for us all. We all felt better, happy and most importantly loved when in her company. We continue to feel her love as she is at the heart of everything we do together. That’s why, on the first year anniversary of her passing, some of us ran the Great North Run in her memory, raising funds for St Cuthbert’s Hospice along the way. We are extremely proud & honoured to ‘Pay for a Day’ on what would be her heavenly birthday. The fact that we managed to raise such an amount is tangible proof of not only the love that surrounded Sandra, but the amazing work carried out at St. Cuthbert’s Hospice every single day.”
We are extremely grateful for this special donation in Sandra’s memory.
