“The Flexathalon at FlexAbility Fitness in June was a real team effort, with over 50 of our members we managed to take on three epic challenges in under 24 hours, starting at 9:00 and finishing at 00:28 in the morning! In 15 minute time slots, we rowed a full marathon on the gym’s rowing machines, cycled 140 miles (the length of a coast to coast) on the exercises bikes and ran a full marathon (26.2 miles!). The guys were all amazing and I’d just like to say a huge thank you to everyone in the #TeamFlexability family for working together on the day, showing up, working hard and helping us to conquer our challenge!” – Daniel Long, owner of gym Flexability Fitness.
It was fantastic for our Development Manager Kay Carrick and Community Fundraiser Erin Wright to be invited to Flexability Fitness on Monday by owner Daniel to meet some of his awesome gym members who raised an incredible £1,777 for us after their Flexathalon Challenge in June
‘We loved going along to meet some of the folks who took part in the fitness challenge and tell them a little bit more about the Hospice and how their efforts really will make a difference to the people we care for. It was such a popular place with great energy and fantastic members, they had a great sense of community and it was lovely to chat with them and say thank you on behalf of everyone at the Hospice!’ – Erin Wright, Community Fundraiser.
We’ve also got to give the team a HUGE round of applause after they won the ‘Best New Business’ Award in England’s Business Awards Tyne and Wear 2022, presented to the team in a ceremony on the 3rd July at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Newcastle – WELL DONE!
